Phnom Penh

I ended up spending 6 days here and never left PP, although I'm sure I should have made a side trip to Siem Riep to see Ankor Watt, but  I was a bit jet-lagged and was having a ball in P.P. anyway. Since there's a quite a few posts on PP already, I'll try to avoid redundancy and just cover areas where I think I can add something. Waffles January report is excellent and I found that just about everything he said was right on.

Thailand

Before I continue let me convey a few things to you. I went with my buddy John (He is the same buddy from my Cartagena Colombia report). I was Not prepared for the mentality of the Thai people. John fared far better than I did. The Thai women loved and I mean LOVED John! The Thai women did not really like me at all. For the first time in my life I was somewhat shunned by women.

SOME HAT TRICKS IN BANGKOK, MATINEES IN SIEM REAP, AND BPâS IN PHNOM PENH

After logging some sack time, I ditty bopped over to NEP to view the current hit parade, packing hard. There is nothing like being back in the playing fields of Bangkokâs go-go bars-row upon row of beautiful, young Thai girls with their Betty Boop-like smiles, accentuated by bright red lipstick, laughing eyes, and firm little boobies sticking out proudly, bouncing their muffs at you. "Fire when ready, Gridley". My plan to just ogle the boodle for awhile was changed when I was joined by two girls I had met from my December trip

Binro‘s Jakarta Junket 2000.

A few weeks ago a regular client rings "would you be interested in going to Jakarta for a few days". I did the usual "it's a hell of a long way to go for just a couple of days, need to charge heavily for travel days etc", though I was trying NOT to put her off! A deal was struck whereby I would make my own travel arrangements and thus be able to stay on for a few days after the work was completed. This also meant that I could select my route and where to stay (for Tsm stuff) when finished :-)

KIWI DOES LAND OF THE SMILING FACES

Firstly I donât normally do trip report but I have seen a lot of quality reports lately and I had hoped to write my memoirs on a daily basis from my note book, add photos later and email to Bruce. Also I had been to The Philippines eight times prior to this trip and thought there was nothing better than a Filapina bargirl. Even before I went to The Philippines for my little sorties I tried to hunt down Filapina massage parlour worker with very little success. I normally resorted for Thai massage parlour girls, had a good time but was suspicious of them because of the local press reports about having HIV. Guys I always wear rubbers ÷ the golden rule in a butterfly lifestyle. Also the Thai sex workers in New Zealand often put me off as generally they werenât as good looking as in Thailand because they normally ended up there when they were washed up and past their "use by" date.

Gone fishing to Thailand

This trip began one night when a young lady that I have been friends with for a while asked, "Dave, why is it that every guy I know wants to marry me, except for you"? Not liking the direction the conversation was taking, I replied, "Cut it out darling, youíre scaring me". Over the next few days, her question kept rolling around in my mind and I finally came to the conclusion that I needed to get away for a while. Told her that I had to go out of town on business, told everyone at the office that I was going on a fishing trip and secretly made reservations for Bangkok. As usual, I booked airfare and a couple of days at the Nana Hotel and left the rest to fate. The outcome can best be described as a 5-day bachelor party followed by two honeymoons and no marriage. HereÎs how it went down.

If your going to Cuba than a picture (movie) is worth a thousand wordsthen these must be worth an encyclopedia. Here are some favorite movies (1,2,3,4,5) and I hope Tsm left in some of the good (naughty) stuff. Ya, I should have been in movies -- hey I am :-)

Colombia, close encounters (Cartagena)

After visiting Colombia last October, I set out for myself the task of trying to convey to the TSM membership my personal experiences. I wanted to do more than just post the basic facts--where to go chica hunting, how much to pay, where to stay and eat, etc.--and yet not fall into the all too familiar pattern on this board of merely boasting of sexual conquests and triumphs. I'm sure a bit of braggadocio crept into my narrative, but, hey, we should all be given a little license in that regard after returning from a successful trip. I tried to give the reader insights into my thoughts and feelings as I recounted the various experiences I had. Whether or not I was successful in that objective I'll leave it up to you, the reader, to judge.

The Traveling man does Cartagena

I made arraignments with Sergio to attend his school and have him find us an apartment on my last trip in October.  I was getting a little nervous as the time to leave for Cartagena was only 2 weeks away and I had no reservations yet.  The Almirante was available, however they were quoting 250,000 pesos a day.  I called Alvero and asked him to drive to Cartagena and look for an apartment for me.  Additionally I wanted him to stop and see Sergio.  I was thinking that a personal visit would get him off of his ass and find us something.  I guess it did the trick! This is long series with 100 of photo sand movies -- get ready to have some fun!!! The above link link will also have the updates :-)

Rio Preface: "You put your hand on a hot oven and 10 seconds feels like ten minutes. You put your hand on a hot woman and 10 minutes feels like 10 seconds." LL Cool J from Deep Blue Sea --- (I was in Rio for almost 10 days and it passed in the blink of an eye.) Full Rio report with over 100 photos
I had always had a bit of a fascination with Ethiopia, ever since as a child I heard of the digs in the Rift Valley and the archeological finds of "Lucy", the oldest remnants of man. Recently, when I drove a taxi in Vegas, many of the drivers I worked with were Ethiopian. I found them to be very gentle, friendly guys that had amazingly good looking wives. Then Biniro's report caught my interest a couple of years back, but it was still a long ways to go from Las Vegas, Nevada. Last year I  moved back to Europe and had hoped to finally go to Africa after I worked the Summer/Fall season. Winter had set in and I was look for somewhere to go, even if my funds were a bit low. Then the first edition of the Lonely Planet Guide of Ethiopia, Eritrea & Djibouti came out. When I found it said that prostitution was a big "PROBLEM" there, with prices ranging from 20 - 50 Birr ST ( $2.40 - $6.00) & 70 -100 Birr LT ($8.20 - $12.00), I thought I better go investigate ;o)

What? A bus tour of Latin America?! Yeah, I spent 14 weeks bussing and bustling about in these countries while checking out EVERYTHING noteworthy for the itinerant TSM traveler and comparing it to the reports of others to confirm or dispute their findings. Here is a consolidation of over 100 pages of notes and reflections during these 14 weeks. Read my report, get a shock, have a chuckle, save time, save money, and let me know what you think.
